The SmarTech 27DL3 is the antenna of choice for those who demand the best.
The improved design of the new version 2.0 has enabled the antenna to achieve remarkable levels of forward gain and F/B ratio.
A high-efficiency Gamma Match adapts the 27DL3 to 50 ohms (relative dielectric constant εr=2.0 @1 MHz - better dielectric properties than fiberglass and polyethylene, dielectric strength 600kV). The power rating is up to 5 kW (optional).

The antenna has been designed with NEC-based software, using integral method of moments MoM (Method Of Moments), and optimized with heuristic algorithms (PSO). SmarTech numerical modeling takes into account the presence of insulators, boom and joints, so as to eliminate radiation pattern distortions.
Prototype stages are realized by iterative cycles of measurements and optimizations, until the convergence between numerical model and performance measured on the physical model.

The "closed ring" configuration and DC Grounded property, give special low noise qualities to the antenna due to the absence of electrostatic currents. Therefore, the SmarTech 27DL3 maintains its efficiency even in conditions where noise makes unusable other antenna systems.
The absence of electrostatic currents, together with Gamma Match decoupling function, offer a special protection against electric shocks to the RTX antenna connector. They're often cause of dangerous damages (or even dstruction) to front-end stages.
Antenna's main structure is made of aluminum and stainless steel parts in order to operate entirely in the elastic field. Thus, the structure is elastic and at the same time very robust.
Unlike fiberglass structures, aluminum systems provide considerable durability and better response to wind loads. This allows for maintaining the antenna's geometry intact, avoiding impedance mismatches and the resulting degradation of efficiency and overall performance.

Thanks to its specific radiation patterns the 3 el. Delta Loop is suitable for both long distance DX and medium/short range contests. The antenna reaches its typical performances starting from small heights from the soil.
This antenna has a flat SWR curve covering 27 MHz at less than 1.5:1 SWR
The
SmarTech Delta Loop antennas are designed to achieve the best
configuration between maximum forward gain, improved Front-to-Back
ratio, better Front-to-Side ratio, and greater radiation pattern
cleanness. This is achievable because the calculation combinations are
not limited to only 50 ohm (or 100 ohm) configurations, unlike direct
feed antennas with coaxial cable. Imposing specific design impedances
can significantly limit the range of useful solutions, resulting in
greater performance compromises.
The SmarTech Delta Loop antennas are
designed with the most advanced calculation models that allow for
optimal configuration without impedance constraints. The impedance
matching is performed by a specific and high-quality gamma match system,
ensuring the best signal transfer and extremely high efficiency levels
of the whole antenna system.

MATERIALS
The antenna main structure is made of aluminum alloy EN AW-6060/82 UNI 9006/1 (Anticorodal 60/100), which provides excellent long-term durability against the most severe weather (ice, water, UV rays, fine particles, acid rain), and better resistance to heavy wind load.
The Delta Loop is supplied with stainless steel parts AISI 304 (Inox Austenitic UNI / EN 10088) and steel S235JR2 (UNI 100 series), certified according to 2000/53 / CE + RoHs standards.
Insulators are made of Polypropylene PPC 5660, resistant to remarkable thermic excursions (certified for temperatures from -20°C to +130°C), with high load at break (ultimate tensile strength 25Mpa), excellent abrasion-resistant and volume resistivity > 1018
The horizontal wire is one of the most important components of the antenna. Here flows the highest current and RF radiation is maximum. Therefore the quality of the material most determines the system efficiency.
For this, SMARTECH has focused its utmost care and efforts for the production of a specific, special wire consisting of 99.99% pure copper with antioxidation coating and insulated with a special polymer.
The wire is also used for military and aerospace applications because of its excellent dielectric properties (insulation better than glass), abrasion and tear resistant, UV rays resistant, chemical solvent attack resistant. IDT 8 kV. Operating temperatures -65+150°C.

The antenna is made to obtain the maximum electrical efficiency, the best mechanical resistance and durability, thanks to its high quality materials. It is also suitable for installation in mountain areas and coastal (corrosive) areas.
SmarTech antennas are designed with the minimum necessary electrical/mechanical joints. So, parasitic resistances are the lowest possible so as to minimize unwanted RF dissipations.
In order to maintain its best performances, each Delta Loop is individually checked before shipment.
